Fae Malaria Scare

Royals summer signing Emerse Fae is on the mend after contracting malaria.

The Ivory Coast international was due to be on the bench for the win at Middlesbrough on Saturday, but he was unable to be involved due to illness.

It turns out that his illness was actually malaria.

Fae, who has just returned from the African Nations Cup, obviously forgot to pack his malaria tablets as it seems he caught the illness during the tournament.

Reading physio John Fearn said, 'It appears that Emerse picked up malaria when he was in Ghana for the African Nations Cup and it lay dormant for a couple of weeks before coming out over the weekend.

'He received prompt treatment and is now under medication. He is recovering well at home and shouldn't be out for too long.'

There is no word yet whether he will be available for the home game with Manchester City on Saturday, but early indications suggest he will miss out.

Cheers Blue is the colour! I hope he gets well soon as well, however it's not as if our record signing will be missed from the first team!!!

True, it's prob just an elaborate cover up to justify him not being in the team for the boro game.
