Seol, Oster, Hunt, Rosenior, Doyle, Kebe; just some of the names that have tried and failed to fill the void left by Glen Little.
But now, the man they call Blakey is back.
Reading have struggled this season, in many people's eyes, due to the loss of Steven Sidwell. They are wrong. I can in fact reveal it has been the absence of Glen Little that has had the biggest impact on Reading's poor season.
After a year out through injury, Glen Little finally played last night, albeit just 30 minutes in a reserve defeat to Fulham.
The result was by no means important, as all eyes were on Blakey, and although lacking in fitness, he showed the same touch and quality that helped Reading to the Championship title and then an eighth place Premier League finish.
Although Little is still a couple of weeks away from first team football, should he stay fit, it will be a huge boost for the players and fans to have such an important figure back in the team.
Fingers crossed Little stays injury free, as it will be a delight to see him back in the blue and white shirt before the end of the season.
Welcome back Glen.
