John Oster Is Quality

Steve Coppell has denied that Reading want to offload John Oster saying 'In every week and every game John Oster has been top quality, and you can quote me on that.'

In an interview with the official site he said:

'All I have ever said in the past is that it's important to have a squad that is committed, and sometimes the people out of the team are the most important ones. Someone asked me the question whether John was dissatisfied sitting on the bench, and I said yes, but he should be because he's not playing. That was not a criticism. I know John did an interview and maybe some quotes were taken from that out of context. Nobody is happy when they're not playing but that does not mean they're unsupportive.'

Explaining

'I maintain that if someone is not supportive then it's better they go, but as I say John has been top quality. I know that Glen Little's good form is in many ways down to John and the pressure he's putting on him. If Glen goes off the boil then John is red hot. My point was about everyone being supportive, and it's a squad thing, not just about the 11 players on the pitch.'
