Narrow Win for Royals

Reading started pre-season in style with an easy 9-0 victory in their annual friendly at Didcot Town.

Didcot's team included former Reading man Neville Roach, but they never came close to getting anything out of the game as the Royals romped to victory.

There were nine different scorers in the game, including one from Reading fan Simon Holloway, who had earned the right to play following a winning bid at a recent fans auction.

The Royals were 3-0 up at the break following goals from Robson Hal-Kanu, Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle.

Following 11 changes at half time, Dave Kitson, Shane Long, Bobby Convey, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Holloway and Simon Church all got on the score sheet to complete a satisfactory afternoon for the Royals.
