Convey Eager To Stay With Royals

Reading winger Bobby Convey is hoping to extend his stay with Reading and play in the Premiership for a few seasons.

The American has a deal that run out at the end of next season but he is hoping that he has done enough to earn himself a new contract in the new league.

Convey has been with the Royals since July 2004, in that time he has made 58 appearances and scored six goals since signing from DC United.

Speaking to the Evening Post, he said: I've got a year left on my contract. If I stay after that is up to Reading not me.

'I would love to stay. Hopefully I will be here a lot longer.

I love it here. This club has a Premiership stadium, a great chairman who has money to back the team, and great players who should be promoted in a couple of weeks.

The best thing to do is get his contract extended, he's good enough for the premiership

I don't see how Reading could do a Wigan in the Premiership next season, but hats off to them, they have surprised a few people this season and done themselves proud.
