Royals Travel to Stoke in Third Round

Reading have been drawn away at Stoke in the third round of the Carling Cup.

It will be a Royal reunion with former players Dave Kitson and Ibrahima Sonko now plying their trade at the Britannia Stadium.

Reading eased through the second round with a 5-1 hammering at home to Luton, whereas Stoke scraped through 3-2 away at Cheltenham.

It will be an interesting encounter with the two side swapping place this season, following Stoke's promotion and Reading relegation.

The tie will take place week beginning 22nd September.

Other highlights of the round include current holders Spurs travelling to Newcastle and FA Cup holders Portsmouth hosting last years Carling Cup runners up Chelsea.
