Royals Linked With Carlton Cole

There are reports in the weekend's Sunday papers that Reading are about to make a bid in the summer for Chelsea striker Carlton Cole.

It could be one of those stories you take with a pinch of Salt seeing as one of the papers was the News Of The World.

Never the less, the Under-21 international has made just one start for Chelsea this season and that was in a weakened side that faced Huddersfield in the FA Cup.

Reading aren't the only club being linked with Cole, the People says Cole could join Israel's Hapoel Tev Aviv on-loan as part of a link-up between the two clubs through Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

Great potential. He was on loan at Villa for a season. He never really fulfilled the potential but a few times when he chose to use his pace and strength, he was explosive. I'd have been happy if we had signed him permanently, but he does need to get his head right, he is a good player, he just needs to believe it.
The Fear
Carlton Cole would be a great signing for the Royals. Young, talented and hungry for success as well as a first team place. I'd definitely take it with a pinch of salt, but it's not a ridiculous suggestion (unlike the Spurs fans who seem to think they're going to get Van Nistelrooy).

There is a beer in Australia called Carlton Cold....it goes down just as quick.

Carlton Cold... don't give me nightmares. Have you ever tried to drink it slightly warm? It tastes like a mix of vomit and urine. Anyway... back to the football, how would Carlton Cole be going down if he joins Reading? They'll be in the premiership next year!

Can't see hi9m wanting to go to reading, or.... reading paying the wages he'd want.
