Murty signs off in style

Legend Murty was released by the Royals this summer but got the chance to say a proper goodbye to the fans with a testimonial on Monday. Murty lined up for the '106' Team, which included many of the faces from the famous Championship winning side from 2005/2006, and they played against the current Reading side minus the likes of Brynjar Gunnarsson who defected for the evening!

With the score pretty irrelevant, Murty stepped up to score an own goal to open the score from the spot after Simon Church was brought down. He probably didn't realise that he would get the chance to score two more spot kicks for his own team!

The current side ended up winning 3-2, with the other goals from Hal Robson Kanu and Scott Davies.

The current Royals side head off to Sweden for the traditional pre season tour whilst Murty concentrates on finding himself a new club.

Thanks for the memories Murt's!!
