Scandinavian tour ends with another win

Brendan Rodgers again went into the game with a 4-3-3 formation, but had Simon Church in an advanced midfield role with Shane Long leading the line. He also opted for Alex Pearce as captain, despite Brynjar Gunnarsson also playing, the strongest hint yet that he will be the new club captain.

Qviding took the lead just before the break but Noel Hunt introduction for Long turned the game and two goals from the Irish striker ensured the win, and a 100% record on tour.

We now entertain Chelsea on Saturday in our toughest pre season encounter yet before the season proper against Notts Forest kicks off on 8th August.
