'If It's Football, It's Vital'

On your Bikey

As expected Stephane Andre Bikey has left Reading and joined Premier League new boys Burnley, becoming the latest player to leave the Royals this summer.

Bikey joined from Locomotiv Moscow in 2006 but it was nearly the transfer that didn't happen when he was sent off in a trial match for us in Sweden for headbutting an opponent! Steve Coppell only had faith to sign him on loan initially but some accomplished displays in the Premier League convinced him to make the deal permanent.

His last game for Reading was against Burnley in the first leg of the play off semi final last season, and in a way his career at the Madejski Stadium ended just as it started. He was sent off in that game at Turf Moor for violent conduct and then did his best impression of Hulk Hogan before leaving the pitch.

It is thought that he is eligable for Burnley's game on Wednesday against Man Utd, under a loop hole that see's him serve his final game of suspenion on Tuesday for the Royals against Swansea even though he is not a Reading player any longer. You work it out!

Thanks for memories and pure theatre you provided for us Bikey in your three years at the club!
