'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers remains upbeat

He arrived at the Madejski Stadium talking very positively about our chances this season, however after watching us go a third succesive league game without a goal you would forgive him if he was a bit down. That is not Rodgers style though and he continued to focus on the positives after Tuesdays draw at Swansea. He told the assembled press, including the Official Reading FC site that he is happy with the teams development.

'At Swansea we were resilient and determined, defensively we were very good. Coming and getting a point doesn't mean we're overly happy, but they are a good side.

'The area we need to improve is higher up the field. We've kept two clean sheets in three games but not scored a goal yet, we need to be better with the ball, and we will be.

'It's only our third game but we will improve. Our vision will get better all the time, we're only five or six weeks into a total change.'

'We need some more possibilities up the field, for sure, we need other options in the final third so I hope this week we can do that.'
