Trialist impresses for reserves
Icelandic striker Thordvalsson has been on trial at the Madejski Stadium for the past 10 days and featured for the reserves for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.
Due to the lack of reserve league football at this time of year, a behind closed doors friendly was arranged with Bristol Rovers and the side included a number of first team players looking to keep match fit.
Thordvalsson scored twice in the opening 10 minutes of the game and will have done his chances of a move to the Mad Stad no harm whatsoever.
He is currently at Danish club Esbjerg, and has also played for Swedish club Halmstads BK and German giants Hannover 96, but as he is registered with a club outside of the UK he cannot move until the January transfer window opens.
He is an international team mate of Brynjar Gunnarsson and has 20 caps for his country and would appear to be a fantastic addition if he does sign.
It was also a good afternoon for a number of first teamers as well who got 90 minutes under their belts including Chris Armstrong, Shane Long and Matt Mills.
The full line up for the match was - Hamer, Cummings, Armstrong, Cisse, Mills, O'Dea, Robson Kanu, Gunnarsson, Long, Thordvalsson, Bozanic.
