Long to miss three games

Long was dismissed in the closing stages of the weekends 2-1 defeat to Derby for a poor tackle on Fredrik Stoor. After the referee's report confirmed the sending off for serious foul play, he will serve a three game ban.

That means the Irish striker, who has only just returned from injury, will miss the games against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillbrough on Saturday, and then the subsequent home games with Crystal Palace and Scunthorpe. That leaves Grzegorz Rasiak and Simon Church as the Royals only 2 recognised available forwards.

Whilst Long can have no arguements over his sending off, Rob Hulse put in an identical tackle on Ivar Ingimarsson earlier in the game and only got a yellow card. Of course it was the big striker who went onto score the winning goal!
