Thorvaldsson set to join

Thorvaldsson spent 10 days on trial last month and scored twice in the only reserve game he played against Bristol Rovers. He will now join up with the Royals again for training on Monday morning whilst the deal to bring him here is sealed.

As well as training, he will also discuss personnal terms before penning a deal to join on loan initially with a permanent deal set to follow at the end of the season if he impresses.

Brendan Rodgers told the official site, 'He did well in the 10 days he was here last time, he is technically strong and is a link striker, he looked good.'

'This is his chance in English football so he comes with a good motivation to do well. He is highly rated and people I know in Europe spoke highly of him. He fitted in well and he is hard working.'

You can see a selection of Thorvaldsson's best goals here, but it is in Icelandic (I think!)
