Royals in for Mackail Smith?

On Thursday Peterborough United confirmed that they had received a number of loan bids for striker Craig Mackail Smith, including one from the Royals.


The highly rated striker has found himself out of the first team under new manager Jim Gannon at London Road, and three clubs are rumoured to have bid to take him on loan - us, Watford and Leicester.


However Gannon apparantly believes 'in the great escape' and will therefore not allow Mackail Smith to leave at this time, especially to a Championship rival.


The move would certainly have been a good one for the Royals, and I'm quite disappointed that they have knocked us back. Still, at least McDermott is targetting the right kind of players and still looking to add to a squad that has performed extremely well lately.
