'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Irvine ready for '6 pointer'

In December Brendan Rodger's Reading went to Hillsbrough and defeated Brian Laws Sheff Wed side 2-0. A lot has changed in the last few months, both sides have new managers and new players but we are both still in a relegation battle.

That means Saturdays game at the Mad Stad will be a massive six pointer and new Wednesday manager Alan Irvine is looking forward to it, and he has told Swfc.co.uk all about his thoughts ahead of the weekend.

'Its a huge game, there is no question about that given where the two teams are in the table. But even without that its a massive game for us anyway.'

He was quick to point out though that the result of this game will not decide the fate of either side,

'Whether we win or lose this game, its not going to determine whether we stay in the division or go down. There are other games we need to win in order to secure our Championship status.'

Its been a week since the visitors last played, with the Royals in action only on Wednesday night at West Brom so there is no doubt who will be the more rested side. Lets hope we can take the adrenalin from the famous win at the Hawthorns into Saturdays game.
