McDermott - Manager of the month??

McDermott - Manager of the month??

It wasn't so long ago that our managers always used to be up for these awards, but hearing of McDermott's shortlisting has made me think its been a hell of a long time since someone was last in the running for the top manager award! Infact I had forgotten the award even existed!

But after a wonderful Febrauary that saw us win 4 out of 5 games, and also progress in the FA cup Brian McDermott is one of four managers who could win the mnager of the month for February. Not bad for his first full month in permanent charge!

Also up is Chris Coleman of Coventry, Nigel Pearson of Leicester and Swansea's Paulo Sousa.

Simon Church is also up for an award, the player of the month for February. He has scored four goals, including a double against Crystal Palace, since returning to the side for the suspended Shane Long.

Also up for that award are Newcastle's Andy Carroll, Dorious De Vries of Swansea and Leicester's Paul Gallagher.

The results are both announced on Saturday, the manager of the month on Sky's Gillette Soccer Saturday with the player award on Soccer AM.

Surely he has to win it out of that lot? Carroll will probably take the player award though I would imagine...
