4 or 5 months ago Matt Mills was probably trying to forget he played for Reading at all, as he was made to sit on the sidelines under Brendan Rodgers, but after the West Brom he actually forgot for real!
Mills was forced off during the second half at the Hawthorns following a sickening clash of heads and in hospital in Birmingham well into the early hours of the Thursday morning after the game. When he was released, he was left questioning why he was in Birmingham as he thought he was still a Doncaster player.
'I don't remember anything from the night, my last memory was being in the hotel with my room mate Jobi McAnuff. I came round and thought I was still at Doncaster, until someone told me I was at Reading. When I heard the price I thought 'oh I must be a good player then!''
After his release from hospital he ended up at Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne's house, who he knows from his time at Man City. He won't be returning any favours this weekend though as he looks to book the Royals place in the FA cup semi final.
'Emma (Rigby from Hollyoaks - google her if you don't know who she is!!), my girlfriend, knows Richard Dunne's wife well and they were great to put us up at that time in the morning. However come Sunday I will be looking to push on and get that place at Wembley!'
