'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Young reserve's hit 5

With a number of players on international duty, and the rest of the first team concentrating on Sunday's FA Cup tie with Aston Villa, Eamon Dolan fielded a young reserve side against Salisbury on Wednesday night.

The Totesport combination reserve league fixture saw one of the youngest ever Royals reserve side put out but they didn't disapoint. Jake Taylor, recently given a first team squad number, opened the scoring before Angus McDonald added the second.

Carl McHugh made it 3 before the break and in the second half the goals continued to come. Jacob Walcott and sub Lawson D'Ath completed the scoring on an impressive night.

Dolan told readingfc.co.uk after the game, 'We played it the Reading way, high tempo, no fuss and I think Brian McDermott, Nigel Gibbs and Nicky Hammond would have been impressed.'
