Its been a fantastic couple of months to be a Reading fan and after another home victory over Bristol City, Brian McDermott was delighted with the performance of pretty much everyone! He told Official Site after the game,
'I'm really pleased, it could have been a lot more than 2-0, even at half time. It was a good win in all departments.'
Match winner Gylfi Sigurdsson was given special praise for his display, and two goals, 'Gylfi is a natural goalscorer, he is a special boy and he has real quality.'
And the Loyal Royals were also mentioned by McDermott in his post match press conference and he is loving the bond between the players and fans right now.
'I'm really pleased the fans are creating a nice bond between themselves and the players. There is a nice camaraderie at the moment.'
Whilst the players, and the fans, are doing really well at the moment I think the main man in all of this is McDermott. Just like his mentor Steve Coppell, he shy's away from taking praise for himself and gives all the credit to his players. He is a really genuine guy and it seems like he is a top bloke to work for, and this is clearly the main reason he gets the best out of the likes of Jimmy Kebe and Shane Long.
Roll on Tuesday night and the visit of the Fake Hoops, and a chance to continue our very impressive home run.
