'If It's Football, It's Vital'

3 points, is 3 points

I think it was widely accepted that the game against QPR was going to be one of our toughest for a while, and it proved so on Tuesday night. Playing against 10 men is hard, especially when they are camped in their own penalty box, but we got our rewards in the end thanks to Gylfi Sigurdsson.

There was a lot of tension but everyone was pleased with the three points, especially defender Ryan Bertrand who was part of a defence that kept another clean sheet.

He told The Reading Post, 'We were confident the goal was going to come. These teams like to make it ugly and it`s horrible to play against, but you have to concentrate on your job and get the result. They camp in front of their area and don`t come out to play, but we got the win in the end and that is all that matters.'

That could be a bit harsh on QPR who I thought played well before they got a man sent off, but the game was settled by a moment of magic from Gylfi Sigurdsson yet again.

The win moves us up to 14th position and left some fans dreaming of the play offs. Bertrand admitted that you wouldn't have imagined that a few months ago. 'No-one would have thought that earlier on in the season, but it shows how far we have come as a team.'

We now face two tough away games against Middlesbrough and Leicester as we look to continue our fantastic form.

Thank you for your words, I am a bit disappointed in what Bertrand has had to say there - I thought we continued to try and play when we had the ball, obviously we're not going to over-commit! - Then again he's Chelsea..!

No offence, but kicking a bll into the net from 6 yards out is hardly 'a moment of magic' is it?
LeeCookFan
No but he won the penalty himself by beating 2 players, which was pretty skillful in my eyes. Oh and penalties are taken from 12 yards out by the way!!
