'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre season starts to take shape

Brian McDermott is beginning to forge his plans for the new season and has confirmed a number of pre season fixtures. As well as the confirmed trip to Slovenia, where we will play three matches, there will be a couple of local away trips and a home tie against Premiership opposition.

On Saturday 10th July, one day before the World Cup final, we will travel to Farnborough for our first game fixture. The non league side have just been promoted to Conference South and will prove decent opposition, certainly a better standard than the usual Didcot game!

On Tuesday 24th July we will travel to local rivals Wycombe, who are sure to be keen to get one over on the Royals. We have not faced the Chairboys since 2002 when goals from Jamie Cureton and Darius Henderson gave us a comfortable win.

4 days later Wolves will travel to the Madejski Stadium and we can welcome back Kevin Doyle and Marcus Hahnemann. Stephen Hunt may also make an appearance as he has been linked with his annual summer move after Hull City's relegation.

There are sure to be a few more fixtures announced, so watch this space.
