'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Reading speaks to Vital Scunny!

First game of the season then - How has your pre season gone?

I think it has gone well, shaky at times, but we have managed to score some goals, which will be key this season for the Iron to survive. But our defence hasn't been very strong, so I expect us to ship a few goals in this season

What are your hopes for the upcoming season? Do you think you will be able to cope without the likes of Hooper and of course Marcus Williams?!

Well I think everyone in Scunthorpe would be happy with another 20th place this year.So Just to avoid the drop would be great for us to progress. Regarding Hooper, I think we have brought in a good replacement in Chris Dagnall so I will expect him to come close to Hooper's goal tally this season.

So how good is Williams? Have we got ourselves a bargain?

You definitely have a bargain there for free! Williams had a good spell with us here, it will be sad to see him go. But every player has to move on, but we have yet to find a decent replacement for him yet.

How are you likely to line up on Saturday?

I think we will be playing a 4-5-1 formation with Dagnall up front on his own.
In defence, Byrne, Mirfin, Raynes and McNulty. And in Midfield Thompson, Togwell, J.Wright, O'Connor and Forte.

Who is the player we should look out for?

Probably between Forte and Dagnall. But I will say Forte, he will be running at your defence trying to cause you problems all day.

Are there many away fans expected in Berkshire?

Well I know one person who will be going, But I wouldn't expect too many!

Finally, give us a score prediction?

Dependent on how our defence are. 2-1 to the Iron. But It could easily go either way.

Thanks to Jordan for his time, and if you want to check out all the news from Saturday's visitors then head over to Vital Scunny.

Great to see Scunny fans so positive ahead of the game - can't see them winning though!
