Mooney loaned to Col U

After David Mooney was left behind for the pre season tour of Slovenia earlier in the summer, it was clear he had no future at the Madejski Stadium and that has been confirmed with his departure to Colchester - even if it is just on loan.

The Irish striker has yet to make his league debut for the Royals despite a couple of appearances in the Carling Cup and has already been on loan to Norwich and Charlton in previous seasons.

He will link up with John Ward's side ahead of their trip to Exeter on the opening day of the season and will link up with former Royals loanee Alan Maybury at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Remember him!

Good move for Mooney, wouldn't be surprised to see the move made permanent.
