Youngsters travel to Torquay

We knew Brian McDermott would have to name a young squad for the trip to Torquay, but not many expected him to name a 16 year old in the squad. But that is exactly what he has done but naming Jordan Obita in the squad, as well as 17 year old Lawson D'Ath.

He has been forced into it after confirming Matt Mills, Jobi McAnuff and Shane Long will all miss the game with injuries. Jem Karacan is a doubt but will be given right upto the last minute to prove his fitness.

Obita and D'Ath are in their first year of professional contracts and have been handed the squad numbers 37 and 40 respectively.

Both players are midfielders and have a fine reputation in academy football as decent goalscorers.
