'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The last ten minutes!

The Royals left it late again on Tuesday night to defeat Ipswich at the Madejski Stadium and afterwards Brian McDermott urged fans to stick around until the end!

Speaking to the Official Site he said, 'I think the supporters know we are trying to win games, we won't just settle for 0-0 draws, so don't leave early thats my advice!'

He was quick to point out the value of the extra 2 points that a win brings and insists its worth going for.

'I just thought if we kept going we would nick it, I was absolutely delighted when we got the goal. It's a fantastic result against a decent side.'

He also praised matchwinner Simon Church, who he had dropped for the game. 'Simon is a really good lad, I am delighted for him. I've told him to take the oppurtunities that come and I will pick the team. He deserved his goal!

McDermott will now hope that our recent good run can be continued on the road at Preston on Saturday.

It's no coincidence that we keep scoring late. We must have one of the most focussed and fit teams in the league
