McDermott and Kebe head shortlists

The Royals have moved upto 6th in the Championship table after a terrific September, and Brian McDermott and Jimmy Kebe are up for the manager and player of the month awards.

McDermott has been named alongside Malky Mackay of Watford, Neil Warnock of QPR and Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest. He last won the award in March, not long after he took permanent charge of the Royals and will be looking to pick up his second award of the calender year.

Kebe has been outstanding all season and has been sensational during September. He scored against Crystal Palace, before putting in a fine display against Millwall despite the goalless draw. He scored one of the goals of the season in our defeat to Middlesbrough before a man of the match display against Barnsley, a game he also scored in.

Watford's Danny Graham, Burnley's Chris Iwelumo and QPR's Jamie Mackie are also up for the award.

You can find out who wins the awards on Thursday 7th October.
