'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McAnuff - 'Brendan's a top man'

Brendan Rodgers returns to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday with his Swansea side, and Jobi McAnuff was full of praise for the former Royals manager.

Speaking to the Reading Post, he said

'Brendan`s a top man and someone I always got on really well with during my spells at Watford and here. He`s a really good guy and I wish him nothing but success, apart from on Saturday.'

Whilst he admitted that Rodgers didn't get the time he needed at the Madejski Stadium, he knows it is part of the modern day game.

'Managers don`t get the time they should. That`s one of the pitfalls nowadays. But it`s a results business and sometimes people make decisions and fortunately for us it seemed to work out last year.'

Whilst it's unclear what kind of reception Rodgers will get on Saturday from the home fans, he will surely get a good welcome from McAnuff!
