Narrow Youth Cup defeat

The Royals got a difficult draw in the FA Youth Cup and had to make the trip to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn who were semi finalist last season.

We put in a fantastic performance though and looked set for victory after Jordan Obita's goal. However the home side equalised late and sent the game to extra time.

We took the lead for a second time thanks to a wonderful strike from Charlie Losasso but the Premier League side won the game with two further goals in the added period, including a last minute winner.

Academy manager Eamon Dolan was full of praise for his side though and told the Official Reading FC site,

'I'm absolutely gutted we didn't win it and to lose in extra time is very hard to take.'
