McDermott praise for Longy

Irish striker Shane Long has been in good form in the last 2 games, scoring 4 goals, and he turned in a match winning display against Bristol City despite battling flu all week.

McDermott spoke to the Official Site after the game and was full of praise for Long.

'He was unplayable at times and he has been doing that all season for us. He is an unsung hero and I knew the goals would come.'

He also said that he considers Long a premiership player and expects to see him back in that division before too long.

'He's a premiership player, he is one of a number who can play there. He is level headed and has a real chance of being a top player.'

There were a number of the squad, including Long, who have been struggling with flu all week and it is credit to the squad that we won so well.
