McAnuff on QPR radar

Royals winger Jobi McAnuff is being tracked by Neil Warnock's QPR, in an attempt to improve their squad for the upcoming Premier League season.

The 29 year old Jamaican has one-year left on his current contract but has stated his desire to stay at the Berkshire club.

Warnock was originally interested in reacquiring his loan star Wayne Routledge, who scored QPR's goal at the Madejski Stadium this season to give them a 1-0 win. But Warnock decided to move on from Routledge and is now believed to be eyeing up the former Watford man.

The QPR boss has been a long-term admirer of McAnuff and was interested in signing him last year but Reading's valuation of McAnuff was considered too high. But now Warnock has a bigger budget, he may try and lure the winger to Loftus Road, with Reading possibly holding out until £2m.

I would take £2m any day for McAnuff, given the fact he is not getting any younger and can be a very frustrating player at times. We could use that money to invest in a younger and in some ways better winger, such as Southampton's Adam Lalana or Preston's Keith Treacy.
