Hamer completes Charlton move

Goalkeeper Ben Hamer has completed his move to League 1 outfit Charlton Athletic after the two clubs agreed a fee and the keeper accepted personal terms.

Vital Reading reported yesterday that Hamer was in talks with the Addicks and that a deal could be immanent.

The 23-year old was down the pecking order at the Madejski stadium and was shipped out on loan many times, most recently to League 1 team Exeter City.

He only made 4 appearances for the Royals in his 5 year tenure, coming only in cup competitions.

He won't have to wait long to face his former Club, as Reading take on Charlton at the Valley next Tuesday in the first round of this years Carling Cup.
