Antonio joins Colchester on Loan

Reading winger Michail Antionio has joined League One outfit Colchester United on a one-month loan deal.

The young winger has already had plenty of experience in the division after a successful spell with Southampton which saw him make 28 appearances for the Saints, scoring 3 goals in the process.

He will be put straight into the U's squad to face our first round Carling Cup opponents Charlton tomorrow night.

Colchester boss John Ward has spoke of his delight in capturing the London-born winger. He told the CUFC official site: 'He is direct and attacking and has all of the right attributes for the way that we play.'

He went onto add: 'The nice thing is that, although he has been on the edge of getting into a very good Reading team, he has been keen to come here.'

Whether the loan spell will be extended remains to be known but will be reviewed by both clubs at the end of the month.
