Kebe on verge of signing new RFC contract

Reading winger Jimmy Kebe could be moving closer to signing a new contract at the Madejski Stadium, with discussions progressing well.

Director of football Nicky Hammond is satisfied with current talks over the Malian's new deal, with previous discussions taking a hitch due to changing of agents.

Nicky Hammond told the Reading Post: "I met with Jimmy`s people and on Monday and had positive talks with them. The discussions are still on going and we are very keen to keep him at this club.'

The 27-year old's contract is set to run out next summer and the Royals are keen to tie down Kebe, who has proved to be a key figure in the Reading attack over the past two seasons.

Hammond went onto add: "I think Jimmy is happy here and for him it`s all about being in the right environment. That is key for him and he seems to be very happy here.'
