New signing Adam Le Fondre has said he can't wait for his first appearance in a Royals shirt and has said he is still 'buzzing' despite having to wait for his chance to play, due to the international break.
Alfie signed 2 weeks ago from League Two side Rotherham United for around £400k, where he has already scored 4 goals this season.
Adam spoke to The League Paper and said: 'Once I heard Reading were interested I was excited by it, I'm still buzzing with the excitement and I just can't wait for the international break to be over and to make my debut.'
The 24-year old is also confident of scoring goals at the Madejski Stadium, despite playing two leagues above his previous level.
'The manager has brought me in to score goals and I want to score them so there's no hiding over that. I've always believed I am capable of playing at the highest level and hopefully this season I can score the goals to get Reading into the Premier League next year.'
Le Fondre was also the quick to praise the set up and facilities at Reading. 'I want to be in the Premier League as well and Reading are the perfect club to do that with. The set-up is top class and so are the coaches and everything is here for me to develop and improve as a player and made a success of it.'
Le Fondre is expected to start on his debut for the Royals, with boss Brian McDermott keen to shake the team up.
