Hunt to take break from penalty duty

Reading striker Noel Hunt has admitted he will shy away from taking penalties in the near future, following his penalty miss against Coventry on Saturday, meaning the game ended 1-1.

Hunt hit his effort to the left of his compatriot Joe Muprhy, who held his effort, which was Noel's second penalty miss of the season after his miss from 12 yards against Barnsley last month.

The 27-year old told the RFC official site: ''I thought I hit it well but it wasn't good enough. It's a bad penalty because he saved it.'

'I would take one again, of course I would - but for the team it's someone else's turn and that's the way we've always done it. I've got no complaints with that.'

With Ian Harte out of the team and Hunt stepping aside from the duty, it could give the green light for Adam Le Fondre from the spot, with him being the regular taker for former club Rotherham.

Out of the four penalties the Royals have won this season, only one of them has been converted from winger Hal Robson-Kanu. Along with Hunt, Ian Harte missed the other penalty against Barnsley.
