Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has expressed his international ambitions for the future, in how he hopes to play for his native country Turkey at international level in the coming years.
The London-born centre midfielder has played at nearly every age level for his country, being caped for U17s, 18s, U19s and captaining the U21s. He also had the chance to play for the U23s this week but picked up an injury against Birmingham.
Karacan told the Reading Chronicle: 'It would be nice to put the kit back on after almost 18 months; I look at the full squad and it has players playing for the likes of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, so it's not easy squad to get into, I know that.'
The 22-year old is also supporting the national movement 'Movember' and all for a good cause. He is growing his moustache to raise funds for his native country Turkey after an earthquake hit last month, killing over 4,000 people.
'It's all for a good cause even if I have been getting a bit of banter for it. If it doesn't itch as much as it has been I'll be keeping it, but either way if I can spare a bit for the charity appeal then I'll put something towards it.'
