Loan watch - Williams returns to action

An update of all the Royals out on loan and how they are getting on at their clubs......

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Eastleigh striker Brett Williams returned to action last Saturday, coming on as a 60th minute substitute for Rotherham in their 2-1 win over Barrow.

He had a previous loan spell with the Millers earlier in the season, only to pick up an injury which hindered his progress and was sent back to the Royals to recover.

Want-away left back Marcus Williams has made nine appearances so far for League One club Sheffield United. Marcus also had an injury not so long ago but recovered and has played their last three games.

Young goalkeeper Alex McCarthy made his first start for Leeds against Leicester two weeks ago, as he kept a clean sheet in their 1-0 win. He has joined our Championship rivals until late December.

Midfielder Brian Howard has made six appearances for Millwall so far this season, without scoring. Howard has admitted he is likely to leave in January.

Welsh U21 international Jake Taylor has made a very good seven appearances for Exeter City in League One, scoring his only goal against Rochdale. He is currently away with the U21s and is playing tomorrow night.

Promising defender Michael Hector has made one appearances for Lawrie Sanchez's Barnet and has come in for special praise from the former Reading player Sanchez.
