Reserves beaten by Bristol

A mainly youth orientated line-up was beaten 4-2, by a strong looking Bristol City side yesterday afternoon. Another concerning sight for Reading fans was that Mathieu Manset had to go offer injured after 20 minutes.

The Royals team included the experienced Brynjar Gunnarsson and South Africa international Bongani Khumalo. Other notable names were Joseph Mills, Michail Antonio and Mathieu Manset.

The likes of Sean Morrison and Michail Antonio was also involved, with Lawson D'Ath making an appearance. The young playmaker made his debut for the Royals last week against Stevenage.

Reading coach Chris Cummins' side took the lead in Bristol thanks to an own goal, but Yannick Bolasie equalised for the home side. Lee Johnson then put the Robins ahead on the half hour mark.

Jon Stead, Reading's known bogey player, then extended Bristol's lead. Wes Burns then put the game beyond doubt with a strike from the edge of the box, before Joseph Mills gave the Royals a late reply.

Reading: Andersen, Arnold, Mills, Khumalo, Morrison, Gunnarsson (C), D'Ath, Antonio, Edwards, Manset, Ugwu
