Royals youth put in valiant display despite defeat

The Reading Youth side lost 2-1 to West Bromwich Albion last night in the FA Youth Cup, despite putting in a fantastic attacking display at the Madejski Stadium last night.

Two goals in two minutes from Baggies striker Alex Jones was the killer blow for the Royals, who dominanted the majority of the game but couldn't find a way past inspried Abion keeper Jack Rose.

Centre back Jake Cooper did eventually get a deserved goal back for the Royals on 65 minutes, but couldn't get a way back into the game. Notable names in the line up were Jordan Obita and Dominic Samuel, who are both regulars in the England U19 set up.

A great crowd of 1,402 attended the Madejski Stadium to watch the Royals in action and would have been left impressed despite the narrow defeat.
