Reading striker Noel Hunt has shown his delight at scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory over Derby at Pride Park last night.
Hunt rose highest in the 61st minute to score the only goal of the game and it was his first goal since the 26th November for the 28-year old, which came against Ipswich. That goal at Portman Road was also the winner, as so it was against Birmingham back three months ago.
Hunt told the official RFC site: 'It's important that you score as a striker, but we're always creating chances for other people as well and we were winning games before so we've got a decent record going now. That was the main thing, to keep that going first and then the goal came second.'
'It's a perfect night for a striker. We could have had more, but it's a great win for us up here - it's a hard place to come and we knew we were in for a fight. It was a battle all the way through. Thankfully I can continue that now and hopefully I can continue that for the next couple of games.'
Hunt is starting to form a decent partnership with recently signing Jason Roberts, who has scored two goals in three games alongside the Republic of Ireland international. It is expected they will both start against Burnley on Friday night.
