Defender in Championship team of the week

Reading defender Ian Harte has been selected in the Championship team of the week.

The 34-year old scored a sublime 25-yard free kick against Middlesbrough on Saturday and put in a fine defensive performance, which has also seen the Royals defence pick up five consecutive clean sheets, as well as five straight wins.

Other Reading players that have appeared in team of the week season are the likes of Alex Pearce and Kaspars Gorkss, which pays credit to their fantastic defensive contribution. Winger Jimmy Kebe has also had his fair share of appearances in the team of the week.

This weeks team is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Julian Speroni - Crystal Place

Right-back: Danny Butterfield - Southampton

Centre-back: Richard Keogh - Coventry

Centre-back: Jason Pearce - Portsmouth

Left-back: Ian Harte - Reading

Right winger: Thomas Ince - Blackpool

Centre-mid: Neil Danns - Leicester

Centre-mid: Josh Wright - Millwall

Left winger: Lloyd Dyer - Leicester

Striker: Rickie Lambert - Southampton

Striker: Ashley Barnes - Brighton
