Reading interested in Pompey midfielder
Reading have expressed an interest to sign Portsmouth midifelder Hayden Mullins on loan, due to Pompey's current financial position.
The 32-year old, who was born in Reading, is believed to be one of the highest wage earners at the club. Pompey manager Michael Appleton admitted that the midfielder was left out of their 2-0 defeat to Brighton as he was in talks with another club.
Jonny Fordham of the Reading Evening Post reported earlier this morning that Brian McDermott had made an enquiry for the former West Ham player. Pompey have already lost Erik Huskelepp and Liam Lawrence, with goalkeeper Stephen Henderson a likely departure to West Ham.
He has been an ever present for the financially-troubled side for the past two seasons and won their player-of-the-season last term. This move would also push Brian Howard further down the pecking order and would end any sort of future he had at the Madejski Stadium.
