Reading striker has described how the win over West Ham on Saturday was a special occasion and even revealed how he has a soft spot for West Ham.
The 28-year old arguably scored the most crucial goal in the game in the second minute of injury time in the first half. After receiving the ball from a lucky deflection, he stroked the ball into the net expertly past Rob Green. That goal was Hunt's eighth of the season and now makes him Reading's top scorer.
Hunt told the official RFC site: 'It's a fantastic place to come, I've been here a number of times - I'm a bit of a West Ham fan and have been since I was a kid, but it was great to come here and to get a win for our club, for our fans. To win means more than anything to us and to me. We showed character.'
'It had everything - we went 1-0 down, but we showed great character to get back into it. It was 2-1 at half time and the boss said 'there's a couple more goals left in this', and he was right. He hasn't been wrong about anything all season! So we took his word for that and got a couple more.'
The Republic of Ireland international also paid special dividends to the sell-out 3,000 Reading following contingent who played a major part in the win. Our next two away trips against Brighton and Southampton have also sold out, with Reading's trip to Birmingham likely to be sold out.
