Royals defender named in Team of the Year

Reading defender Ian Harte has been named in the official nPower Championship Team of the Year.

The Republic of Ireland international is the only Reading name to make the team, despite Adam Federici, Alex Pearce and Jem Karacan being highly-touted to be included in the line up. However, it has to be considered that the voting process is completed during February and March time by the Players Football Association.

It is the third consecutive year that the 34-year old has made a PFA Team of the Year. During his time at Carlisle in 2010, Harte was recognised for his superb goal-scoring ability and made the PFA League One Team of the Season, before moving onto Reading the following year to break into the Championship's equivalent.

The team in full is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Kelvin Davis (Southampton)

Right-back: Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace)

b>Central defender: James Tomkins (West Ham)

b>Central defender: Curtis Davies (Birmingham)

b>Left-back: Ian Harte (Reading)

Right-winger: Matt Phillips (Blackpool)

b>Central midfielder: Peter Whittingham (Cardiff)

b>Central midfielder: Mark Noble (West Ham)

b>Left-winger: Adam Lalana (Southampton)

Striker: Jay Rodriguez (Burnley)

b>Striker: Rickie Lambert (Southampton)
