McDermott attends MK Dons-Huddersfield game

Reading manager Brian McDermott was at the play-off semi final tie between MK Dons and Huddersfield, believed to be watching Jordan Rhodes.

The 50-year old was believed to be casting an eye on sought-after forward Jordan Rhodes, who coincidently scored in the game with a glancing header to give the Terriers a 2-0 aggregate lead. The goal was an incredible 38th of the season for the Scottish striker, which has led to him gaining interest from the Premier League.

Rhodes has been a long-term target of McDermott's, having chief scout Steve Shorey watch him in their 6-0 triumph over Wycombe, where Rhodes scored five. However the Terriers were not keen to sell him during the January window, but admitted they could be more tempted during the summer period, as they have more time to replace the prolific forward.

McDermott could have also been checking up on the progress of defender Sean Morrison, who is on loan with Huddersfield. The former Swindon defender has done a magnificent job with Simon Grayson's side and was very solid in today's game. The future of Morrison is unclear, but another loan next season is a very likely outcome for the 21-year old.
