Reading shun Owls Antonio bid

Reading have turned down a bid from Sheffield Wednesday for winger Michail Antonio.

The fee offered by the Owls is believed to be around the 350,000 mark, which the Royals have politely turned down. The 22-year old had a very successful loan spell with Dave Jones' side, where he scored five times in 14 appearances and helping the Owls to achieve promotion back to the Championship for the first time in three years.

Although, Jonny Fordham of the Reading Post understands that if Wednesday were to double the offer to 700,000, then Brian McDermott would be more inclined to accept. Antonio has never been a regular in the Reading team, also being pushed further down the pecking order with the arrival of Forest winger Garath McCleary.
