Tickets will go on sale next tuesday, the 29th August.
With Manchester United's visit drawing closer on Saturday 23rd September (5.15pm kick-off live on Sky), while the Charlton tie takes place on Saturday 18th November at the unusual Premiership kick-off time of 3pm (on a saturday afternoon?????).
As well as the usual Royalty Points priority tickets setup, these two matches are being interlinked, so they can only be purchased together. Although there are obviously good and bad aspects to this kind of ticketing linking,it is being done in an attempt to ensure that the Mad Stad is packed to the rafters for the unglamorous ties as well as the games against the big boys. Not that any game involving Reading is unglamorous.
The club have announced this is a system they will be implementing throughout the seasion, platinum games being linked to gold ones. For example they have confirmed this will be the case with Chelsea (Platinum) and Bolton (Gold), with ticket details to be announced soon.
Manchester United/Charlton tickets will be available from 3pm on Tuesday via the clubs online ticketing, fax and phone services (details at bottom of page to fans with a minimum of 140 points.
The points system will then decrease as follows.
11am-Thursday 31st Aug- 130points
10am-Friday 1st September-120 points
10am-Monday 4th September-100 points
10am-Tueday 5th September-80points
10am Wednesday 6th September-60points
11am-Thursday 7th September-50points
10am-Friday 8th September-30points
10am Monday 11th September-10points
