Royals could be set for TV boost

Reading are set to recieve an extra £10 million in TV revenue if they survive in the Premier League.

At the start of the 2013/14 campaign, all twenty Premier League clubs will receive around £30 million. This TV windfall comes following the announcement of a new audio-visual rights agreement, that agreed the sale of seven broadcasting packages to BT and BSkyB.

Chief Executive of the Premier League Richard Scudamore has said: "The money is not just put into the hands of the top three or four clubs. The way this money is divided means our smallest clubs are able to compete and, on a match-to-match day basis, take on the big clubs.'

'In our league that happens more than anywhere else, and as long as we can still have teams in the bottom three beating teams in the top three every season then we have a compelling competition."
