Russian striker awaiting work permit

Reading target Pavel Pogrebynak is still awaiting a work permit to complete his move to the Royals.

All paperwork has been completed for the Russian international, including personal terms and his medical, which was agreed last week. Pogrebynak's hearing will be conducted next week, with everything highly likely to go to plan and complete his move to the Madejski Stadium on a four-year deal.

The 28-year old will sign on a free transfer, after failing to agree terms with former club Fulham. It is believed that Pavel will be earning around 30k a week, with a notable signing-on-fee added. Huddersfield's Jordan Rhodes also remains a target for Brian McDermott, but would depend on a striker departing Reading.
